Chester, NY (3/13/11) The Dominican College baseball team fell to 2-4 on the season after losing a non-conference double-header today in games played at The Rock Sports Park. Dominican fell to Saint Anselm, 1-0, and lost to Merrimack College, 3-0 in the night cap.

Chester, NY (3/13/11) The Dominican College baseball team fell to 2-4 on the season after losing a non-conference double-header today in games played at The Rock Sports Park. Dominican fell to Saint Anselm, 1-0, and lost to Merrimack College, 3-0 in the night cap.
Game One: Game one was scoreless until the top of the ninth inning when Saint Anslem hit a lead-off home run for the 1-0 victory.
Richard Leachy (Brookfield, WI) took the loss, going three innings and allowing one run on three hits. Starter Ryan Calby (Huntington Station, NY) went six innings, allowing just two hits and striking out a season high seven batters.
Game Two: Merrimack tallied runs in the first, third and eighth innings en route to the 3-0 shut out win.
Marco Moreno (Miami, FL) and Andrew Camardella (Pelham, NY) each hit a double in the loss.
Starter Dustin Javins (Fort Lauderdale, FL) suffered the loss in 6 2/3 innings of work, allowing two runs on nine hits and three strikeouts. Jordan Paszek (Sussex, WI) pitched the final 1 1/3 inngins, allowing two hits and one run.
