BASEBALL DOWNED BY ADELPHI UNIVERSITY
Garden City, NY (3/22/12) The Dominican College baseball team fell to Adelphi University, 13-1, this afternoon in a non-conference game played at Bonomo Field. With the loss, Dominican falls to 4-14 overall while Adelphi improves to 8-5 in the season.

Garden City, NY (3/22/12) The Dominican College baseball team fell to Adelphi University, 13-1, this afternoon in a non-conference game played at Bonomo Field. With the loss, Dominican falls to 4-14 overall while Adelphi improves to 8-5 in the season.
The lone run for the Dominican came in the fourth inning as Christopher Gonzalez (Bronx, NY) led off the inning with single to left field and moved to second on a ground out. Catcher Tyler Clark (Cheshire, CT) singled to right center field to plate Gonzalez and cut the Panther lead to 3-1.
AU went on to score four runs a-piece in the fourth and fifth inning and add two runs in the seventh en route to the 13-1 victory.
Starter Ryan Calby (Huntington Station, NY) took the loss (0-2) in four innings of work, allowing seven runs (six earned) on 12 hits.
Clake and outfielder Tony Blake (Windsor, CT) each had two hits in the loss.
DC is back in action on tomorrow as they take on Concordia College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest.
