Flushing, NY (4/1/12) The Dominican College baseball team swept a non-conference double-header from host, Queens College, this afternoon in games played at the Ray Metski Field. DC won the first game, 10-1 and took the night cap, 3-1 to improve to 10-16 overall, while Queens fall to 6-11 on the season.

DC won the first game, 10-1 and took the night cap, 3-1 to improve to 10-16 overall, while Queens fall to 6-11 on the season.
Game One: Dominican held a 4-0 lead after three innings of play, as an RBI single up-the-middle off the bat of Tom Liang (Bronx, NY) gave the team a 1-0 lead in the second and three consecutive run producing hits from Tony Blake (Windsor, CT), Andrew Camardella (Pelham, NY) and Christopher Gonzalez (Bronx, NY) in the third inning made the lead 4-0.
A solo home run by Blake in the fifth put the Chargers up 5-0 and a five-run seventh made the score 10-0. In the seventh, Gonzalez and Oliver Christensen (Coral Springs, FL) each had two-run singles and Tyler Sadawske* (Waukesha, WI) had an RBI single. The Knights got on the board with a run in the bottom stanza for the 10-1 final score.
Blake and Gonzalez each had three hits a-piece and combined for five RBIs.
Justin Moore (Wantagh, NY) got the complete game win (1-0), allowing one run on five hits and five strikeouts.
Game Two: Dominican struck for two runs in the third inning as Blake received a bases loaded walk and Christensen scored on a wild pitch. A sacrifice fly ball off the bat of Camardella gave the Chargers a 3-0 lead as they went on to the 3-1 victory.
Starter Ryan Calby (Huntington Station, NY) improved to 2-2 on the year in five innings of work, allowing one run on one hit and four strikeouts.
Nicholas Kevlin (Conway, NH) got his second save of the season as he pitched the last two innings and collecting four strikouts.
Dominican is back in action on Tuesday with a non-conference game at Molloy College.
