POST UNIVERSITY DEFEATS CHARGERS BASEBALL
Waterbury, CT (4/9/12) The Post University baseball team defeated the visiting Chargers of Dominican College, 6-5, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at Municipal Stadium. With the loss, the Chargers split the CACC series with the Eagles and fall to 11-18 overall and 5-5 in the CACC.

The Eagles put three runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning and added a run in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead. Dominican scored their first run in the top of the fifth on an RBI single by freshman Oliver Christensen (Coral Springs, FL) to cut the deficit to 4-1.
Post regained a four-run lead in the bottom of the fifth, but Dominican posted a three-run seventh inning to make the score 5-4. Three Eagle errors allowed Austin Holzknecht (Coral Springs, FL), catcher Tyler Clark (Cheshire, CT) and Xavier Bonilla (Bronx, NY) all to score in the inning.
Dominican tied the game in the eighth inning as third basemen Robert Alonso (Kingston, NY) hit an RBI single up-the-middle to tie the score at 5-5. The Eagles scored the game winning run on a single in the bottom of the ninth for the 6-5 victory.
Clark finished the game, going 2-3 with two runs scored.
Victor Cosme (Brooklyn, NY) suffered the loss in 1 1/3 innings of work, allowing one run on two hits and two strikeouts. Starter Justin Moore* (Wantagh, NY) went five innings in the no decision, allowing five runs (three earned) on six hits. Jordan Paszek (Sussex, WI) pitched 2 1/3 innings,
Dominican returns to CACC action when they host Post University on Wednesday in a double-header to be played at Provident Bank Park.
