West Haven, CT (4/18/12) The Dominican College baseball team dropped a non-conference game to host, the University of New Haven, 8-1 this afternoon in a game played at Frank Vieira Field. With the loss, Dominican falls to 17-21 overall, while New Haven improves to 16-14-1 on the season.

West Haven, CT (4/18/12) The Dominican College baseball team dropped a non-conference game to host, the University of New Haven, 8-1 this afternoon in a game played at Frank Vieira Field. With the loss, Dominican falls to 17-21 overall, while New Haven improves to 16-14-1 on the season.
The lone Charger run came in the second inning as Xavier Bonilla (Bronx, NY) led off the inning with a double down the left field line. He later stole third base and on UNH throwing error scored to give DC a 1-0 lead.
New Haven scored runs in the fifth, seventh and eighth innings for the 8-1 victory.
Bonilla went 2-4 in the game.
Caleb Olesen (Selden, NY) took the loss (1-1) in seven innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and four strikeouts.
Steven Pastrana (Queens, NY) came in to pitch the eighth inning and allowed three runs on three hits.
Dominican is back in action tomorrow as they host non-conference foe, Adelphi University at Provident Bank Park.
