Pomona, NY (4/20/12) The Dominican College baseball team charged past host, Nyack College, 10-2, this afternoon in a non-conference game played at Provident Bank Park. With the victory, Dominican improves to 18-22 overall, while the Warriors fall to 17-18 on the season.

DC struck for two runs in the first inning on a two-run blast from outfielder Tony Blake (Windsor, CT).
Dominican added a run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to hold a 5-1 lead. In the fourth, catcher Tyler Clark (Cheshire, CT) hit a sacrifice fly ball to center field to plate a run and Christopher Gonzalez (Bronx, NY) reached on a fielder's choice which brought a run home in the fifth. An RBI single off the bat of Peter Martinez (White Plains, NY) in the sixth put DC ahead 5-1.
A run in the seventh by the Warriors made the score 5-2, but Dominican added three runs in the eight and two in the ninth for the 10-2 win. Oliver Christensen (Coral Springs, FL) had an RBI single and Tyler Sadawske (Waukesha, WI) added a two-run double in the eighth, while Robert Alonso (Kingston, NY) hit a two-run single in the ninth.
Starter Ryan Calby (Huntington Station, NY) improved to 3-2 on the season in nine innings of work, allowing two runs (one earned) on nine hits.
Dominican is scheduled to be back in action tomorrow against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent, University of the Sciences.
