CHARGERS BASEBALL ELIMINATED FROM CACC TOURNAMENT
New Castle, DE (5/11/12) The Dominican College baseball team, seeded third in the tournament, was eliminated from the 2012 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Championships after falling to the top-seeded Golden Falcons of Felician College, 7-4 this evening in a game played at Wilson Stadium. In early action, DC eliminated Bloomfield College, 6-3.

Game One: In their first elimination game of the day, the Chargers jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second inning as Robert Alonso (Kingston, NY) hit a two-run single to right field and Oliver Christensen (Coral Springs, FL) followed with an RBI infield single. Later junior outfielder Tony Blake (Windsor, CT) had a two-run, two out single to right field.
DC led 5-1 when they added a run in the fifth inning on a RBI double to right field off the bat of Andrew Camardella (Pelham, NY) as Domincian went on to the 6-3 victory.
Senior Dustin Javins (Fort Lauderdale, FL) earned the complete game victory (4-3), allowing three runs on nine hits and seven strikeouts.
Both Christensen and Blake had two hits a-piece in the win.
Game Two: DC took on Felician College in a second elimination game. The Chargers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI single to right field from Blake. Felician came back in the bottom stanza with three runs for the 3-0 lead.
The Golden Falcons added a run in the second to go ahead 4-1. A run in the fourth inning extended the lead to 5-1, but DC scored a run in the top half of the sixth inning on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 5-2.
Down 6-2 in the seventh, the Chargers put two runs on the board on the RBI sacrifice fly ball to center field from Tyler Clark (Cheshire, CT) and later a sacrifice fly ball to left field from senior Tyler Sadawske* (Waukesha, WI) to make the score, 6-4. An FC run in the eighth inning made the score 7-4 Felician.
Both Christensen and Blake also each had two hits in the game.
Junior Caleb Whiteley (San Antonio, TX) suffered the loss (3-2) in 1 1/3 innings of work, allowing four runs (two earned) on three hits and three strikeouts.
Dominican ends the season with an overall record of 27-26.
