CHARGERS LOSE TO ST. THOMAS UNIVERSITY
Miami Gardens, Fla. (3/5/13) The Chargers baseball team fell to 0-2 on the season after losing to host, St. Thomas University, 8-1, this evening in a non-conference game played at Paul Demie Mainieri Field. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 17-5 overall.

Miami Gardens, Fla. (3/5/13) The Chargers baseball team fell to 0-2 on the season after losing to host, St. Thomas University, 8-1, this evening in a non-conference game played at Paul Demie Mainieri Field. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 17-5 overall.
STU scored a run in the second inning to take a 1-0 lead. Dominican tied the game in the top half of the seventh inning as catcher Tyler Clark (Cheshire, Conn.) led off the inning with a triple to center field and would later score on a wild pitch to make the score 1-1.
The Bobcats scored seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to go ahead 8-1 for the eventual victory.
Pitcher Richard Leachy (Brookfield, Wis.) suffered the loss (0-1) in 7 and 1/3 innings of work, allowing seven runs on eight hits and five strikeouts.
Steven Pastrana (Queens, N.Y.) pitched 2/3 an inning and allowed one run on one hit and one strikeout.
DC is back in action tomorrow as they take on the College of Saint Rose.
