Dominican took a 5-0 lead after a half an inning as right fielder Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) drew a bases loaded walk to score a run. Back-to-back errors brought home two more runs, followed by a sacrifice fly ball from Leonardo Bravo (Bronx, N.Y.). Robert Alonso (Hurley, N.Y.) singled in the final run of the inning.
Over the next three innings, the Golden Kniights scored six runs to take a 6-5 advantage. In the eighth, freshman Nick Delgado (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) hit an RBI groundout and Alonso later scored on an error to regain a 7-6 lead.
DC added two more runs in the ninth as second basemen Kenny Harrell (Pompano Beach, Fla.) had a two-run single to right field for the final 9-6 victory.
Right-handed pitcher Brett Schneider (Coral Springs, Fla.) picked up his first collegiate win of the season in 4 2/3 innings of work. Peter Martinez (White Plains, N.Y.) got the save (1) in one inning of work.
Starter Ryan Calby (Huntington Station, N.Y.) went 3 1/3 innings, allowing five runs (none earned) on seven hits.
