Pleasantville, N.Y. (3/13/13) The Dominican College baseball team dropped a non-conference game to host, Pace University, 5-1, this afternoon in a game played at Finnerty Field. Following the loss, the Chargers are 1-5 on the season, while the Setters improve to 5-3 overall.
Pleasantville, N.Y. (3/13/13) The Dominican College baseball team dropped a non-conference game to host, Pace University, 5-1, this afternoon in a game played at Finnerty Field. Following the loss, the Chargers are 1-5 on the season, while the Setters improve to 5-3 overall.
Dominican took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on the double down the right field line from catcher Tyler Clark (Cheshire, Conn.) which scored Kenny Harrell (Pompano Beach, Fla.) who had led off the inning with a walk.
The Setters tied the score in their half of the fifth inning and put four more runs on the board in the eighth for the final 5-1 victory.
Senior right-handed pitcher, Caleb Whiteley (Joplin, Mo.) took the loss (0-1) in two innings of relief, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits.
Starter Richard Leachy (Brookfield, Wis.) went six innings, allowing one run on three hits.
The Chargers return to action on Friday as they open up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with a home double-header against Wilmington University. Game time is set for 1pm for the first game at Provident Bank Park.
