West Haven, Conn. (4/1/13) The Dominican College baseball team was upended in non-conference action today as they fell to the University of New Haven, 4-3, in a game played at Frank Vieira Field. Following the loss, Dominican is now 6-8 overall while New Haven improves to 14-5.

DC scored first with a run in the top of the first as senior Andrew Camardella (Pelham, N.Y.) got a one out hit through the left side to bring home Dylan Ebel (Coral Springs, Fla.), who had led off the game with a bunt single.
UNH game back in the bottom stanza wit a run to make the score 1-1 and added runs in the third and fourth go up, 3-1. Dominican got a run back in the fifth as Nick Delgado (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) led off the inning with a single to left center, moved to second as Ebel was hit by-a-pitch and went to third on the infield bunt single from Kevin Rodriguez (Miami, Fla.). Delgado later scored on a UNH throwing error to make the score, 3-2.
New Haven regained a two-run lead in the bottom of the fifth as they tacked on their fourth run of the game. Dominican scored in the sixth on an RBI single through the ride side by Leonardo Bravo (Bronx, N.Y.) for what would be the final 4-3 score.
Right-handed pitcher Brett Schneider (Coral Springs, Fla.) suffered the loss (1-1), allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits and three strikeouts in five innings pitched.
Steven Pastrana (Queens, N.Y.) pitched the last three innings, recording two strikeouts and two hits.
Delgado led Dominican as he went 3-3 for the day.
DC is back in action tomorrow as they host Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header to be played at Provident Bank Park.
