BASEBALL EXTENDS WINNING STREAK WITH VICTORY OVER MERCY COLLEGE
Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. (4/4/13) The Dominican College baseball team extended their winning streak to four games after defeating host, Mercy College, 5-1 this afternoon in a non-conference game played at Mavericks Field. With the victory, the Chargers improve to 10-8 overall on the season.

Mercy scored a run in the bottom of the first to take the early 1-0 advantage, but the Chargers charged back with a three-run sixth inning to go ahead 3-1. First basemen Andrew Camardella (Pelham, N.Y.) hit a two out run scoring single and shortstop Kenny Harrell (Pompano Beach, Fla.) later followed with a ground-ruled double that plated two runs.
DC added a run in the sixth on the RBI sacrifice fly ball of the bat of second basemen Dylan Ebel (Coral Springs, Fla.) and he added another run in the ninth on an RBI single for the 5-1 victory.
Starter Richard Leachy (Brookfield, Wis.) got the complete game victory, allowing one run on six hits and recording nine strikeouts.
