CHARGERS BASEBALL SPLITS WITH QUEENS COLLEGE
Flushing, N.Y. (4/6/13) The Dominican College baseball team split a non-conference double-header with host Queens College in games played at Ray Metski Field. Queens won game one, 3-2, while the Chargers took game two, 9-1. With the split, the Chargers improve to 11-10 overall, while the Knights are now 8-15 on the season.

Flushing, N.Y. (4/6/13) The Dominican College baseball team split a non-conference double-header with host Queens College in games played at Ray Metski Field. Queens won game one, 3-2, while the Chargers took game two, 9-1. With the split, the Chargers improve to 11-10 overall, while the Knights are now 8-15 on the season.
Game One: Dominican scored a run in the top of the third inning as Tony Blake (Windsor, Conn.) hit an RBI ground out to score Nick Delgado (Fort Lauderdale, Fla) for the 1-0 lead. The Knights answered back in the bottom stanza with two runs to go ahead 2-1.
DC tied the game in the sixth inning as second basemen Dylan Ebel (Coral Springs, Fla.) hit a run scoring single to right field to tie the score at 2-2. QC scored the game-winning run in their half of the eighth inning for the 3-2 win.
Kevin Rodriguez (Miami, Fla.) and Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) each had two hits in the game.
Jesse McIlwaine (Huntington, N.Y.) suffered the loss (0-1) in 1/3 innings of work, allowing one run on three hits. Starter Brett Schneider (Coral Springs, Fla.) went seven innings and allowed two runs on five hits and six strikeouts.
Game Two: The Chargers exploded for seven runs in the top of the first inning as Ebel scored on a wild pitch and Kyle Hall (Nassau, Bahamas) came home on a balk. A double to right center field off the bat of Andrew Camardella (Pelham, N.Y.) scored the third run of the inning and Leonardo Bravo (Bronx, N.Y.) followed with a two-run single to left field. Ebel made a second appearance at the plate in the inning and doubled down the right field line to score two more runs.
The Knights scored a run in the bottom of the inning to make the score 7-1, but DC scored two runs in the fifth on the sacrifice fly ball to center from Camardella and a single up-the-middle off the bat of Austin Holzkenecht (Coral Springs, Fla.) for the 9-1 victory.
Ebel, Camardella, and Bravo each had two RBIs in the win.
Jordan Paszek (Sussex, Wis.) got the complete game win (2-1), striking out six and allowing one run on eight hits.
