Philadelphia, Pa. (4/10/13) The Dominican College baseball team improved to 9-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play and 15-11 overall after sweeping host, Philadelphia University, 7-6 and 7-3 in games played this afternoon at Alumni Field.

Game One: Dominican got on the board in the second on the sacrifice bunt from Kenny Harrell (Pompano Beacn, Fla) to score Andrew Camardella (Pelham, N.Y.) who drew a one out walk and moved to third on the single by Oliver Christensen (Coral Springs, Fla.).
The Chargers recorded four more runs in the fourth inning as two runs scored on an error and Dylan Ebel (Coral Springs, Fla.) delivered a two out two-run triple to right center field to extend the lead to 5-0.
Philadelphia had a three run fifth inning and added two more in the seventh to tie the game at 5-5. The Chargers regained the lead in the eighth as Camardella scored from third as a run down took place with a runner between first and second to go up 6-5. The Rams came back in the bottom stanza with a run to re-tie the game at 6-6.
In the top of the ninth, senior right fielder Tony Blake (Windsor, Conn.) hit a one out sacrifice fly ball to left field to bring home a run and lift the Chargers to the 7-6 win.
Christensen collected three hits in game one.
Right-handed pitcher Anthony Pastrana (Queens, N.Y.) picked up the win (2-1) in 2 and 2/3 innings of work, allowing three runs (one earned) on eight hits. Caleb Whiteley (Joplin, Mo.) recorded his first save of the year in the ninth with two strikeouts, while Ryan Calby (Huntington Station, N.Y.) went 5 1/3 innings with three runs (two earned) on 10 hits and three strikeouts in the no decision.
Game Two: The Rams led 1-0 after one inning of play, but the Chargers answered back in the top of the second with two runs as catcher Tyler Clark (Cheshire, Conn.) hit a two out run scoring triple and later scored on a wild pitch to go ahead 2-1.
DC added a run in the fifth on the RBI infield single from Blake to make the score 3-1. The Rams answered back in the bottom stanza with two runs to tie the game at 3-3.
Dominican didn't wait long to re-take the lead as they scored two runs in the sixth on a two-run blast from Clark and added a run in the seventh on the RBI groundout off the bat of Blake.
The Chargers extended the lead to 7-3 in the eighth on the RBI single up-the-middle from shortstop Robert Alonso (Hurley, N.Y.).
The game was suspended after eight innings due to darkness.
Clark went 2-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs, while Christensen and Blake had three hits each.
Whiteley got the win (1-1) in eight innings of work, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits and three strikeouts.
