Mercy scored a run in the top of the first inning, but DC rallied with two runs in the bottom stanza as senior left fielder Tony Blake (Windsor, Conn.) had a two-out double to right field and designated hitter Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) followed with an RBI single to right field for the 2-1 advantage.
The Mavericks tied the game in the third inning, but the Chargers answered back in the bottom half of the inning as Oliver Christensen (Coral Sping, Fla.) and Lopez both produced RBI singles to regain a 4-2 lead.
An RBI ground out in the fourth inning and an RBI single through the left side off the bat of catcher Tyler Clark (Cheshire, Conn.) extended the lead to 6-2.
MC scored runs in the seventh and eight innings to cut the deficit to 6-4, but Dominican added one more run in the bottom of the eighth on the one-out triple to left center field for the final 7-4 victory.
Lopez went 3-4 in the game with two RBIs.
Clark and Ebel each had two hits.
Right-handed pitcher Brett Schneider (Coral Springs, Fla.) got the win (3-1) in 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on nine hits.
Ryan Calby (Huntington Station, N.Y.) picked up the save (1) after pitching the ninth inning.
