CHARGERS UPENDED BY RIVER HAWKS
Lowell, Mass. (4/26/13) The University of Massachusetts-Lowell River Hawks upended the Dominican College baseball team, 9-1, this afternoon in a non-conference game played at LeLacheur Park. With the loss the Chargers fall to 23-17 overall, while the River Hawks improve to 26-16 on the season.
Lowell, Mass. (4/26/13) The University of Massachusetts-Lowell River Hawks upended the Dominican College baseball team, 9-1, this afternoon in a non-conference game played at LeLacheur Park. With the loss the Chargers fall to 23-17 overall, while the River Hawks improve to 26-16 on the season.
UMass-Lowell scored runs in the second, third and fourth innings to take a 9-0 lead. Dominican got on the board in the sixth inning as right fielder Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) hit a sacrifice fly ball to center field to score Dylan Ebel (Coral Springs, Fla.) who had led off the inning reaching base on a River Hawk fielding error to make the score 9-1.
Tom Liang (Bronx, N.Y.) suffered the loss (0-2) in 3 1/3 innings, allowing eight runs (five earned) on two hits and eight walks.
Reliever Peter Ginter (Davie, Fla.) came in for the remainder of the game, allowing one run on four hits.
