The Chargers broke the game open as they scored four runs in both the second and third innings to go up 8-0. Second basemen Dylan Ebel (Coral Springs, Fla.) hit a two-run single, while Robert Alonso (Kingston, N.Y.) had an RBI ground out and shortstop Oliver Christensen (Coral Springs, Fla.) doubled home the fourth run of the inning.
In the third, Austin Holzknecht (Coral Springs, Fla.) and Ebel recorded RBI singles and freshman Nick Delgado (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) had an RBI ground out. Christensen later reached base on a fielder's choice which allowed the eighth Charger run of the game to score.
A Charger run in the fifth inning on the RBI single from Christensen would make the score 9-1 and the Warriors added two more in the seventh to cut the deficit to 9-3. However, DC tacked on six more runs in the eighth stanza to pull ahead 15-3. Holzknecht hit a two-run single, while Delgado added a two-run double.
