Pomona, N.Y. (5/1/13) The Dominican College baseball team improved to 27-18 overall after defeating the visiting Knights of Queens College, 5-2, this evening in non-conference action at Provident Bank Park.

Dominican struck first with a run in the first inning on the bases loaded walk to designated hitter Andrew Camardella (Pelham, N.Y.)
Camardella added his second RBI of the night in the third inning as he hit a run scoring single to right field to make the score 2-0.
QC got on the board with a run in the fifth, but DC struck for three runs in the eighth inning to extend the lead to 5-1. In the eighth, Oliver Christensen (Coral Springs, Fla.) hit an RBI ground out and a single by Camardella allowed two runs to score. The Knights added a run in the top of the ninth for the 5-2 win.
Freshman Brett Schneider (Coral Springs Fla.) got the win to improve to 4-1 overall, going seven innings and allowing one run on five hits and eight strikeouts.
Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) picked up his second save after getting the final two outs of the contest.
