CHARGERS RALLY TO BEAT FELICIAN COLLEGE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/3/13) The Dominican College baseball team rallied from a 5-0 deficit to defeat the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician College, 10-8, this evening in a non-conference game played at Veteran's Park. With the victory, the Chargers improve to 28-19 on the season.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/3/13) The Dominican College baseball team rallied from a 5-0 deficit to defeat the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician College, 10-8, this evening in a non-conference game played at Veteran's Park. With the victory, the Chargers improve to 28-19 on the season.
The Golden Falcons took a 5-0 lead after two and a half innings, but DC scored two runs in the bottom of the second on a fielding error to make the score 5-2.
DC added two more runs in the third on a single to center field off the bat of Kenny Harrell (Pompano Beach, Fla.) to cut the deficit to 6-4.
FC led 8-4 after four and a half innings, but the Chargers rallied with a six-run bottom stanza to take a 10-8 lead. Dallan Vecchio (Boca Raton, Fla.) and Dylan Ebel (Coral Springs, Fla.) each had a two-run single, while Kevin Rodriguez (Miami, Fla.) and Kenny Harrell (Pompano Beach, Fla.) both had RBI singles to give DC the lead and eventual win.
Harrell had three hits in the game, while three other Chargers finished with two hits in the win.
Ebel, Harrell, and Vecchio all collected two RBIs.
Jesse McIlwaine (Huntington, N.Y.) picked up the win in five innings of relief, striking out five and scattering six hits.
Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) picked up his third save of the season after getting the final two outs of the game.
