BASEBALL CLOSES OUT REGULAR SEASON WITH LOSS TO ST. THOMAS AQUINAS COLLEGE
Pomona, N.Y. (5/4/13) The Dominican College baseball team closed out the regular season with a non-conference loss to host, St. Thomas Aquinas College, 15-12, this afternoon in a game played at Provident Bank Park. With the loss, the Chargers now stand at 28-20 on the season.

The Spartans scored five runs in the first inning, but Dominican rallied with two runs in the second on a sacrifice fly ball to center field and scored a run on the STAC fielding error to make the score 5-2.
The Chargers took the lead in the third inning as they scored nine runs as Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) hit a two-run triple to right field and Tony Blake (Windsor, Conn.) followed with an RBI double to left field. Senior Andrew Camardella (Pelham, N.Y.) hit an RBI double and A one out single to right field off the bat of Nick Delgado (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) brought home DC's fifth run of the inning. Second basemen Dylan Ebel (Coral Springs, Fla.) followed with a two-run single to right field and a Spartan fielding error allowed another run to score. The ninth run of the inning scored on the RBI single from Oliver Christensen (Coral Springs, Fla.) to put Dominican in the lead, 11-5.
STAC answered in the bottom stanza with six runs to tie the score at 11-11, but the Chargers regained a 12-11 advantage in the fourth inning on the solo home run from Tyler Clark (Cheshire, Conn.)
The Spartans re-tied the score in the sixth and one the game with three runs in the 10th inning for the 15-12 win.
Camardella went 3-5 on the day with two runs scored.
Caleb Whiteley (Joplin, Mo.) suffered the loss (3-3) in 2/3 innngs of work, allowing three runs on two hits.
