New Castle, Del. (5/9/13)  The Dominican College baseball team, the second seed, fell to the sixth-seeded Griffins of Chestnut Hill College, 10-1, this afternoon as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Tournament continued with two games played at Wilson Stadium.

The first game of the day saw #1 Wilmington University rally to defeat #5 Felician College, 5-4.

The Griffins never trailed in the contest as they scored two runs in the third inning and added five more in the top of the sixth to pull ahead 7-0.

Dominican got on the board in the bottom of the sixth as CACC Second Team selection, Oliver Christensen (Cora Springs, Fla.) hit a one out RBI single to right field to score Nick Delgado (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) who had led off the inning with a single through the left side.

CHC added three more runs in the eighth en route to the 10-1 victory.  In the win, the Griffins had 16 hits, compared to the Chargers three hits.

CACC First Team pick, Peter Martinez, (White Plains, N.Y.) suffered the loss (6-3) after allowing seven runs (three earned) on nine hits and six strikeouts in six innings pitched.

Dominican will take on Felician tomorrow at 12pm in an elimination game to be played at Blue Rocks Stadium in Wilmington, Delaware.
