BLAKE AND LOPEZ NAMED ECAC BASEBALL ALL-STARS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (6/13/13) Dominican College baseball players Tony Blake and Carlos Lopez were named 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Baseball All-Stars as was announced by the ECAC yesterday.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (6/13/13) Dominican College baseball players Tony Blake and Carlos Lopez were named 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Baseball All-Stars as was announced by the ECAC yesterday.
The head coaches, or his, designee, within the ECAC membership voted on the teams and individual awards.
Blake, a senior outfielder from Windsor, Conn., makes his first appearance on the ECAC All-Star Team this year after earning one Player of the Week honors this seeason. This season he led Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) in triples and walks, ranked third in runs scored, 4th in RBIs and 7th in stolen bases. For his efforts, he was named to the All-CACC First Team.
Lopez, a freshman designated player/pitcher from Miami, Fla., led team in batting average and ranked 8th in the CACC, 6th in doubles and saves, 8th in hits, 11th in runs scored and on-base percentage and 12th in slugging percentage. He earned All-CACC Second Team accoladess.
