Lyndhurst, N.J. (3/22/14)  The Dominican College baseball squad was swept by the Felician College Golden Falcons, 23-5 and 5-1, today in games played at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.  With the loss, the team is now 4-6 overall and 0-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.

Game One:  Felician recorded 23 runs on 27 hits and 23 RBIs in the 23-5 win.

DC got on the board in the fourth on the RBI single from third basemen Luis Paniagua (Manhattan, N.Y.) to cut the FC lead to 8-1.  The team added on two more runs in the sixth on a one out two run triple to left field from freshman Riley Strickland (Boca Raton, Fla.) to make the score 16-3.

The Chargers added a run in the seventh on the RBI single to center from catcher Tyler Clark and scored a run in the ninth on a Golden Falcon throwing error for the final 23-5 loss.

Junior Peter Martinez (White Plains, N.Y.) took the loss in three innings of work.

Clark went 3-5 in the game with one run scored and one RBI.

Game Two:  Dominican took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on the infield RBI single off the bat of catcher Leonardo Bravo (Bronx, N.Y.)

Felician tied it in the top of the second, added a run in the third and scored three more in the seventh for the 5-1 victory.

Bravo went 2-4 for Dominican.

Ryan Calby (Huntington Station, N.Y.) suffered the loss (1-1) in 6 2/3 innings of work, allowing five runs (three earned) on eight hits and seven strikeouts.

Dominican is scheduled to return to action tomorrow afternoon as they host Bloomfield College in a CACC double-header slated to begin at 12pm at Provident Bank Park.
