Yaphank, N.Y. (4/2/14) The Post University Eagles swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header from the visiting Chargers of Dominican College, 5-2 and 2-0 in 10 innings, in games played today at Baseball Heaven.
With the losses, the Chargers are now 6-12 overall and 1-5 in conference play.
Game One: DC took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second on the RBI ground out off the bat of Leonardo Bravo (Bronx, N.Y.) to plate Tyler Clark (Cheshire, Conn.), who led off the inning with a double.
The Eagles came back with two runs in the bottom stanza and added three more in the third for the 5-1 lead. The Chargers added a run in the sixth inning on the RBI double by Clark for the final 5-2 score.
Clark had the two lone Charger hits.
Brett Schneider (Coral Springs, Fla.) took the loss (1-1) in eight innings of work, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and 14 strikeouts.
Game Two: The night cap was scoreless until the bottom of the 10th inning when the Eagles hit a two-run two out home run for the 2-0 victory.
Charger starter Ryan Calby (Huntington Station, N.Y.) struck out a career high 18 batters and scattered just four hits in nine innings of work in the no decision.
Reliever Anthony Pastrana (Queens, N.Y.) suffered the loss to drop to 0-3 on the season.
