ECAC ANNOUNCES 2014 DIVISION II BASEBALL ALL-STARS AND MAJOR AWARD WINNERS
Centerville, Mass. (6/17/14) The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) recently announced its 2014 Division II Baseball All-Stars and major award winners. Dominican College freshman Jayson Gray (New Rochelle, N.Y.) was tabbed as the Rookie of the Year. The voting was completed by the head coaches within the ECAC Division II Baseball membership.

Dominican College freshman Jayson Gray (New Rochelle, N.Y.) was tabbed as the Rookie of the Year. The voting was completed by the head coaches within the ECAC Division II Baseball membership.
Teammate Tyler Clark was named to the All-Star Second Team.
Gray made an immediate impact for the Chargers, collecting 44 hits and scoring 43 runs in his first season at Dominican. He terrorized opponents on the base paths, swiping 43 bases while only being caught on three occasions (93.5%). Gray led the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) in steals, finished fourth in runs scored and tied for 16th in hits. He was also named the CACC Rookie of the Year and a Second-Team All-CACC selection.
Clark, a senior catcher from Cheshire, Conn., was sixth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) in doubles and stolen bases, ninth in runs scored, 12th in hits and 14th in triples. He led the conference in runners caught stealing. He sported a .992 fielding percentage with just three errors and 324 put outs. He recently earned his second consecutive All-CACC Second Team selection and was the recipient of the Dominican College Baseball Co-Coach's Award. Clark was named to the East Region Gold Glove First Team and the 2014 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team.
Merrimack College sophomore Frank Crinella (East Longmeadow, Mass.) was selected as the Player of the Year, Mercyhurst University junior Dan Altavilla (Greenock, Pa.) earned the Pitcher of the Year honors.
