With the win, Dominican improves to 4-3 on the season.
The Chargers struck for two runs in the second inning as Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J.) grounded out which brought home a run and a second run later on a passed ball.
Dominican tacked on six more runs in the fourth stanza to increase the lead to 8-0. Shortstop Joseph Libio (Tamarac, Fla.) got things going as he blasted a three run homer over the left field fence. Jayson Gray (New Rochelle, N.Y.) scored on a balk and Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) brought home two more runs on a double to right center field.
The Setters got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth, but the Chargers got the run back in the fifth on a fielder's choice. Pace added two more runs in their half of the fifth and DC answered back in the top of the sixth with two more runs on back-to-back run-scoring doubles from Leonardo Bravo (Bronx, N.Y.) and Bartolomei for the final 11-3 score.
Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) and Bravo each had two hits in the win.
Franklin Miller (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) got the win to improve to 1-1 on the season in five and a half innings of work, allowing three runs on five hits and five strikeouts.
Nick Bird (Rotterdam, N.Y.) got the save in the final 3 and 2/3 innings, scattering just three hits.
DC will take on Pace University tomorow in a non-conference double-header slated to began at 12pm.
