SETTERS TAKE SERIES WITH SWEEP OVER BASEBALL
Pleasantville, N.Y. (3/12/16) The Pace University Setters rallied from a 5-0 deficit in game one and took game two, 1-0, to complete a non-conference double-header sweep over the Dominican College baseball team in games held today at Peter X. Finnerty Field. With the sweep the Setters win the three-game series, 2-1.

Pleasantville, N.Y. (3/12/16) The Pace University Setters rallied from a 5-0 deficit in game one and took game two, 1-0, to complete a non-conference double-header sweep over the Dominican College baseball team in games held today at Peter X. Finnerty Field. With the sweep the Setters win the three-game series, 2-1.
Game One: Dominican jumped out to the 5-0 advantage in the top of the first inning, scoring the runs on five hits. First basemen Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) hit a run-scoring single to right-center field to score Jayson Gray (New Rochelle, N.Y.), who had led off the game with a bunt single. Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.), who had hit a double earlier, later stole home to plate the second DC run of the inning.
Right fielder Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J.) doubled to left field to bring home two more runs and the final run of the inning came on the RBI single ro right off the bat of Mark Vargas (Bronx, N.Y.).
Pace got on the board in the third inning and added two more runs in the sixth to cut the deficit to 5-3. The Setters used a four-run eighth stanza to claim the 7-5 win.
Decker and Bartolomei both had three hits in the loss.
Reliever John-Michael Broderick (Spring Lake Heights, N.J.) suffered the loss (0-2) in two innings of relief, allowing four runs (two earned) on three hits.
Game Two: In the night cap, the Setters scored the lone run of the game in the third inning for the 1-0 shut out victory.
The Setter pitching limited the Chargers to just three hits in the loss.
Anthony Hunter (Palm City, Fla.) dropped to 0-2 on the season in the loss, allowing one run (not earned) on three hits and four strikeouts.
Dominican is scheduled to return to non-conference action tomorrow as they travel to Merrimack College.
