BASEBALL SPLITS WITH FELICIAN UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/15/16) The Dominican College baseball team split a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header with the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician University in games played this afternoon at the Veteran's Memorial Park. The Chargers won the opener, 3-1, but fell in the second game, 18-8.

(4/15/16) The Dominican College baseball team split a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header with the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician University in games played this afternoon at the Veteran's Memorial Park. The Chargers won the opener, 3-1, but fell in the second game, 18-8.
Game One: The Golden Falcon scored in the top of the first on the single through the left side for the early 1-0 advantage.
Dominican scored two runs in the bottom of the second with two outs to take the lead as freshman infielder Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) delivered the two-run single to center field for the 2-0 lead.
DC added to the lead in the third inning as right fielder William Seymour (Sloatsburg, N.Y.) got the two out RBI single to left field for the 3-1 lead.
Corey Pic (Montvale, N.J.) improved to 4-2 on the season in eight innings of work, allowing one run on four hits and four strikeouts.
Sophomore Kraigen Rasalla (Scranton, Pa.) picked up his sixth save of the year after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning and recording one strikeout.
Decker and center fielder Arbely Soto (Bronx, N.Y.) had two hits each in the win, with Decker adding two RBIs.
Game Two: Dominican scored first in the night cap in the bottom of the first as first basemen Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) produced a two out RBI single up-the-middle for the 1-0 lead.
Felician countered in their half of the second stanza with two runs on three hits to take a 2-1 edge.
The Golden Falcons added a run in the third on a run-scoring single to right field to increase the lead to 3-1.
Felician's offense exploded for 10 runs on eight hits to pull away 13-1.
DC scored four runs in the fifth on a wild pich, a single to right field by Soto, Joseph Libio (Tamarac, Fla.) stole home and a Felician fielding error that allowed a run to score to cut the lead to 13-5.
Following a Felician run in the sixth, the Chargers plated three runs in the seventh on the two-run double down the left field line from Seymour and later Seymour scored on a wild pitch to make the score 14-8.
Felician added four more runs in the top of the ninth for the 18-8 win.
Soto and Lopez recorded two hits each in the loss with Soto scoring two runs.
Seymour had two RBIs.
Starter Thomas Saffiotti (Bergenfield, N.J.) took the loss (2-3) in three innings of work, allowing six runs (five earned) on five hits.
With the split Dominican now stands at 12-20 on the year and 6-6 in CACC play.
