EAGLES TURN BACK CHARGERS
Naugatuck, Conn. (4/17/16) The Post University baseball team swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header from the visiting Chargers of Dominican College in games played his afternoon at R.L. Baseball Field. The Eagles rallied to win the opener, 8-6 and took game two by the score of 10-2.

Naugatuck, Conn. (4/17/16) The Post University baseball team swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header from the visiting Chargers of Dominican College in games played his afternoon at R.L. Baseball Field. The Eagles rallied to win the opener, 8-6 and took game two by the score of 10-2.
Game One: Dominican used two home runs and a single to right field in the third to give the team a 3-0 lead. Third basemen Max Franzone (Nanuet, N.Y.) led off the inning with a solo home run to center field, later followed by a one out home run off the bat of Jayson Gray (New Rochelle, N.Y.). With two outs, desginated hitter Jonel Ozuna (New York, N.Y.) recorded an RBI single to right field for the 3-0 lead.
Post countered with a four-run bottom of the fourth, but DC tied the game in the fifth as Gray hit his second home run of the game over the center field fence. Dominican added two more runs in the sixth as first basemen Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) led off the inning with a home run and later catcher Leonardo Bravo (Bronx, N.Y.) hit a run-scoring single to left field to regain a 6-4 advantage.
The Eagles scored a run in the seventh and added three more in the eighth to rally for the 8-6 win.
Dominican hit four home runs on the game with Gray hitting two of them.
Gray had two hits and two RBIs with two runs scored.
Franzone also had two hits in the loss.
Reliever Kraigen Rasalla (Scranton, Pa.) took the loss (1-2) in 2/3 innings of relief.
Game Two: DC took a 2-0 lead in the first frame as Lopez hit his second home run of the game, this one being a two-run shot over the right field fence.
Post would shot out the Charger offense for the remaining eight innings, while the Eagle offense scored a run in the fourth, five in the sixth and four in the seventh en route to the 10-2 win.
Second basemen Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) had two hits in the loss, while Lopez finished with two RBIs.
Franklin Miller (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) took the loss in six innings of work, allowing six runs on six hits with three strikeouts.
With the losses, Dominican now stands at 10-24 overall and 5-9 in conference play.
