WARRIORS EDGE CHARGERS IN FINALE GAME OF REGULAR SEASON

The Warriors scored first with two runs in the top of the first inning for the early lead.
Dominican countered with four-runs in their first at-bat as senior centerfielder William Seymour (Sloatsburg, N.Y.) blasted a three-run home run over the left field fence to give the Chargers the 3-0 advantage. Right fielder Jordan Bernacet (Schenectady, N.Y.) later followed with an RBI single through the right side to bring home Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) and increase the lead to 4-2.
NC added a run in the second on a run-scoring single to left field to cut the lead to 4-3. A sacrifice fly ball to center field tied the game, 4-4, in the fifth stanza.
Third basemen Max Franzone (Nanuet, N.Y.) regained a 5-4 edge in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI ground out.
Nyack would answer back again in the sixth as they re-tied the game on a sacrifice fly ball to right field.
A run-scoring triple to left field in the top of the eighth put the Warriors up, 6-5.
Seymour ended the afternoon collecting three hits in five at-bats, hitting three RBIs and scoring two runs.
Catcher Leonardo Bravo (Bronx, N.Y.) and designated hitter Jonel Ozuna (New York, N.Y.) both had two hits in the loss.
Reliever Christian Jordan (Queens, N.Y.) took the loss (0-1) in one inning of relief, allowing one run on two hits.
Starter Brett Schneider (Coral Springs, Fla.) went 4 2/3 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and three strikeouts.
With the loss, Dominican now stands at 17-27 on the season.
DC has earned the sixth seed in the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament and will travel to #3 Wilmington University this coming Saturday in a play-in game. Game time is set for 2pm.
