BASEBALL ADVANCES TO WINNER'S BRACKET OF CACC CHAMPIONSHIPS
New Castle, Del. (5/12/16) The #6 Dominican College baseball team advanced to the winner's bracket of the 2016 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Championships after defeating #2 Chestnut Hill College, 5-3, this afternoon in a game played at Wilson Field.

With the win, Dominican (19-27) will take on #4 Philadelphia University tomorrow morning at Wilson Field. First pitch is slated for 11am.
The Charger offense produced two runs in the top of the first inning as senior first basemen Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.) delivered a two out two-run home run to right field.
DC added two more runs in the second as center fielder Arbely Soto (Bronx N.Y.) hit a two out two-run double to left center field to increase the lead to 4-0.
The Griffins countered for a run in the bottom of the second and added runs in the fourth and eighth to cut the lead to 4-3.
Dominican brought home their fifth run of the game in the ninth as third basemen Max Franzone (Nanuet, N.Y.) singled through the right side to score a run for the final 5-3 score.
Dominican had 11 hits in the game.
Soto, Franzone and designated hitter Jonel Ozuna (New York, N.Y.) all had two hits in the win.
Lopez and Soto collected two RBIs each.
Starter Franklin Miller (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) picked up the win (3-4) in seven innings of work, allowing three runs on four hits and five strikeouts.
Closer Kraigen Rasalla (Scranton, Pa.) picked up his seventh save on the season.
