Dominican led 1-0 after three innings as second basemen Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) hit a sacrifice fly ball to center field which allowed Arbely Soto (Bronx, N.Y.) to score.
The Rock answered with a five-run top of the fourth, but Dominican scored three runs in the bottom stanza to cut the lead to 5-4. Soto had an RBI single, while Decker followed with a two-run single.
Decker drew a bases loaded walk in the eighth to bring home the final Charger run in the 6-5 loss.
Soto finished with three hits and two runs scored, while Decker recorded four RBIs.
Arben Becaj (Brooklyn, N.Y.) took the loss (0-2) in five innings of work, allowing six runs on nine hits.
The Chargers will take on Slippery Rock again tomorrow morning.
