Dominican trailed 6-0 through three innings of play when Dominican put a run on the board in the fourth as designated hitter Brandon Simone (Bayside, N.Y.) hit a run-scoring single to right field. DC added a run in the fifth when third basemen Max Franzone (Nanuet, N.Y.) recorded a single to centerfield which brought home another run.
The Chargers charged ahead with a six-run sixth inning as scored six runs on four hits. Sophomore Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J.) got things started with an RBI single to centerfield and Tyler Malia (Delran, N.J.) followed as he recorded the run batted in after reaching on an error. Jayson Gray (New Rochelle, N.Y.) then drew a bases loaded walk to bring home the fourth DC run of the inning. Later with two outs, Franzone singled to left field to plate a run and freshman Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) to give Dominican the 8-6 advantage.
The Lions countered with three runs in their half of the sixth inning to re-claim a 9-8 edge.
In the seventh, Bartolomei doubled down the left field line to bring home Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) and Gray reached on a fielder's choice which allowed another run to come home and give the Chargers the 10-9 lead and eventual win.
The DC offense pounded out 12 hits in the win with four different players getting two hits and two runs batted in each.
Reliever Kyle Morgan (Boca Raton, Fla.) picked up the win in one and 2/3 innings of work.
Kraigen Rasalla (Scranton, Pa.) recorded his second save of the season in two innings of shut out relief.
With the win, Dominican improves to 5-8 on the season.
