Pomona, N.Y. (4/3/17) The Dominican College baseball team swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header from host, Post University, 7-4 and 3-0 in games played this afternoon at the Palisades Credit Union Park.

Pomona, N.Y. (4/3/17) The Dominican College baseball team swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header from host, Post University, 7-4 and 3-0 in games played this afternoon at the Palisades Credit Union Park.
With the sweep, Dominican improves to 9-12 overall and 4-4 in conference play.
Game One: Dominican took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first as second basemen Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) singled up-the-middle to bring home a run.
The Eagles tied the score in the third on a single through the left side and took a 2-1 lead in the fourth on a run-scoring single up-the-middle.
DC re-tied the game in the fourth as catcher Tyler Malia (Delran, N.J.) hit a run-scoring double and regained a 3-2 lead in the fifth as first basemen Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J.) doubled to center field to bring home a run.
The Chargers gained a 6-2 lead in the seventh when they scored a run on a wild pitch, a bases loaded walk and a sacrifice fly ball hit to right field. A home run down the left field line off the bat of centerfielder Arbely Soto (Bronx, N.Y.) in the eighth extended the lead to 7-2.
Post used a two-run homer to left field in the top of the ninth to cut the deficit to 7-4.
Decker finished the game with three hits, while Soto and Bartolomei had two hits a-piece.
Starter Brett Schneider (Coral Springs, Fla.) got the win, allowing two runs on eight hits and recording nine strikeouts in eight innings of work.
Game Two: An infield single off the bat of Decker in the third scored the first run of the nightcap and gave Dominican the 1-0 advantage.
DC added a run in the bottom of the fourth on the run-scoring double down the left field line off the bat of the shortstop Joseph Libio (Tamarac, Fla.) to extend the lead to 2-0 and made the score 3-0 in the fifth as Jordan Bernacet (Schenectady, N.Y.) scored on a wild pitch.
Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) collected two hits in the win.
Junior Kraigen Rasalla (Scranton, Pa.) got the complete game shut-out victory (3-3), scattering three hits and striking out five.
