With the loss, the Chargers end the regular season with an overall record of 17-26.
Molloy led 6-0 after two innings, but Dominican got on the board with three runs in the fourth as Max Franzone (Nanuet, N.Y.) hit a two-run single to right field and Arbely Soto (Bronx, N.Y.) later drew a bases loaded walk.
The Lions countered with two runs in the bottom frame to increase the lead to 8-3, but DC scored runs in the next five innings to cut the deficit to the final 14-13 score. In the fifth, right fielder Brendan Woodruff (Cincinnati, Ohio) hit a sacrifice fly ball to to left field to bring home a run and added two more in the sixth as Soto hit a run-scoring double to right center and second basemen Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) got a bases loaded ground out to cut the lead to 8-6.
An error allowed a run to score in the seventh and a ground rule double to center field off the bat of Decker brought home a run in the eighth to make the score 14-8.
In the ninth, Dominican scored five runs on three hits and one error. The first run came home on a passed, followed by an RBI groundout from Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J.). A two-run single to right field from pinch hitter Jordan Bernacet (Schenectady, N.Y.) and catcher Brett Karcher-Bowen (Cypress, Texas) singled home the last run of the game.
Franzone had three RBIs in the loss.
Decker and Karcher-Bowen each had three hits.
Arben Becaj (Brooklyn, N.Y.) took the loss (1-5) in four innings of work.
