DOMINICAN & WILMINGTON TABBED 1ST IN RESPECTIVE DIVISIONS IN 2018 CACC BASEBALL PRESEASON POLL

(2/1/18) Both Dominican College and Wilmington University were tabbed in first place in their respective divisions, according to the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced on Thursday afternoon by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara. The voting for the poll was conducted by the league's 12 head coaches in the sport.

The voting for the poll was conducted by the league's 12 head coaches in the sport.
Dominican, the reigning CACC Champion, topped the North Division with 69 points and nine first-place votes, while Wilmington is first in the North with 67 points and seven first-place nods.
The Chargers claimed the CACC title last season by winning the "if necessary" game on Championship Saturday versus Chestnut Hill. The win enabled Dominican to earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament, as the CACC was represented by two teams at the regional with Felician University earning an at-large bid.
The Wildcats reached the final four teams of the CACC Championship last season, as Wilmington once again found itself in the regional rankings throughout the year. One of the top teams in the East Region each year, WilmU claimed the 2015 NCAA East Region Championship and advanced to the Division II World Series in Cary, N.C.
