(3/25/18) The Dominican College baseball team upended the visiting Rams of Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University), 7-6 Sunday evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played at Palisades Credit Union Park. Game two of the scheduled double-header was not played and will be rescheduled for a later date.

With the win, Dominican improves to 2-14 overall and 1-0 in CACC play.
Game One: The Rams led 2-0 after two innings of play, but the Chargers rallied in the bottom half of the third inning as junior Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) doubled home Joseph Libio (Tamarac, Fla.) and firstbasemen Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J.) followed by reaching base on an error which allowed a second run to score with two outs.
DC took the lead in the fifth as Decker picked up his second RBI of the game as he reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Elijah Tavarez (Valley Stream, N.Y.) to come score.
Jefferson rallied with four runs on three hits and one Charger error in the seventh to take a 6-3 advantage, but Dominican charged back in the bottom frame with three runs on on three hits and one error. Tavarez drew the bases loaded walk to plate a run and later Decker was hit by-a-pitch to score a second run. Bartolomei also drew a bases loaded walk to allow the third run to come home and re-tie the score at 6-6.
In the eighth, an error with two on-base and one out allowed the go-ahead run to score and lift Dominican to the eventual 7-6 victory.
Reliever Christopher Catoire (Brooklyn, N.Y.) picked up the win (1-3) in one and 2/3 innings of work, striking out two batters and allowing one hit.
Libio went 3-4 in the win with two runs scored.
Right fielder Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) went 2-4 with two runs scored, while Decker also finished with two hits and three RBIs.
Tavarez picked up to RBIs and scored two runs.
Game Two: Will be rescheduled for a later date.
The Chargers are slated to host non-conference opponent, Queens College this coming Tuesday.
