CHARGERS WIN NON-CONFERENCE GAME OVER STAC

The Spartans started the scoring in the bottom of the second inning to take an early 1-0 lead. The Spartans extended their lead in the following inning when Anthony Shkrelja singled in a run to make the score 2-0.
The Chargers cut the deficit in half win the fourth inning when Max Chidsey (Naples, Fla.) doubled in teammate Joe Rotelli (Morganville, N.J.) for their first run of the game. Dominican took the lead in the fifth inning by recording three runs.
Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) tied the game with an RBI double. Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J.) singled in Decker to give the Chargers the lead. Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) finished off the three-run inning with an RBI groundout to give the Chargers a 4-2 lead.
In the seventh inning, the Chargers extended their lead out to 5-2 when Chidsey recorded his second RBI of the game. The Chargers added one last insurance run in the ninth inning to extend their lead out to 6-2 when Brett Karcher-Bowen (Cypress, Texas) capped the scoring for the game for the Chargers which eventually became the final.
Reliever Will Dawson (Cypress, Texas) recieved the win (1-0) in three innings of relief and collecting three strikeouts.
The Chargers will be back in action on Wednesday April 11th when they host Post University for a CACC doubleheader. Both games will be played Veteran's Memorial Park with game one set to begin at 3:00 PM and game two is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
