PIC HONORED WITH CACC TOP XVI AWARD
Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/18/18) Dominican College baseball player Corey Pic (Montvale, N.J.) was honored with the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Top XVI Award. Presented at the CACC Championship Banquets, the Top XVI Award is modeled after the NCAA Elite 90 Award and is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) participating at the finals site for each CACC Championship.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/18/18) Dominican College baseball player Corey Pic (Montvale, N.J.) was honored with the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Top XVI Award. Presented at the CACC Championship Banquets, the Top XVI Award is modeled after the NCAA Elite 90 Award and is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) participating at the finals site for each CACC Championship.
In order to be considered for a CACC Top XVI Award, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, as well as, a member of the active roster. In the event of a tie, it is broken by the total number of credit hours earned. The award debuted in the 2013-14 season, and was named the Top XIV Award after the 14 championship sports the CACC offered. The award changed to the Top XV in 2014-2015, as the conference expanded its championship offerings to 15 sports with the addition of men's track & field. In 2017-2018, the honor was changed to the Top XVI Award to recognize the addition of men's lacrosse as a conference sport.
Academically, Pic (3.95, Business Management) was named the Top Dominican College Male Scholar-Athlete in his freshman, sophomore,junior and senior years. The fifth-year senior is a three-time CACC All-Academic Team selection and in 2016 was inducted into the Dominican College New York Sigma Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, which is The National College Athlete Honor Society.
