LE MOYNE RALLYS TO UPEND BASEBALL

Dominican (1-2) got on the scoreboard in their half of the first inning as senior Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) go the scoring going with a RBI sacrifice fly to centerfield. Bartolomei reached base on an error which allowed a second run to score and designated hitter Brian Rotella (Stony Point, N.Y.) blasted a two-run shot over the left field fence for the early 4-0 lead.
The Chargers added a run in the top of the third on a run-scoring double to right field off the bat of third basemen Billy Rotella (Stony Point, N.Y.) to increase the lead to 5-2. The Dolphins got two runs back in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 5-4.
The DC bats came alive in the fifth frame as they scored seven runs on five hits to regain a 12-4 lead. Bi. Rotella got the scoring going as he brought home his brother with a two-run homer over the left center field fence. Center fielder Elijah Tavarez (Valley Stream, N.Y.) drew a bases loaded walk to plate a run and senior Bartolomei delivered a two out grand slam.
DC added a run in the sixth inning on the run-scoring single to left field from shortstop Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) to build a 13-4 advantage. Le Moyne rallied with a 10 run bottom of the sixth to take a 14-13 edge. The Dolphins added two more in the seventh for the 16-13 lead.
In the top of the ninth, an RBI single to left from Bi. Rotella made the score 16-14.
Br. Rotella led the team with four hits and added two RBIs
Bi. Rotella recorded three hits and four RBIs in the game, while Colon also had three hits.
Bartolomei finished with two hits and four runs batted in.
Reliever Brandon Mology (Wall Township, N.J.) suffered the loss (0-1) in two and two thirds innings of relief, allowing three runs on four hits and two strikeouts.
Dominican will conclude their trip to Myrtle Beach tomorrow as they take on the University of Bridgeport.
