Pomona, N.Y. (4/25/21) The Dominican College won a pair of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games over the visiting Bears of Bloomfield College in games played today at Palisades Credit Union Park.

Game one was halted in the top of the fourth inning by game officials, while the Chargers won the second game 9-1.

Dominican scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning of game two as Brian Sanders (La Ceiba, Honduras) score on a wild pitch and freshman Shane Hewlette (Deer Park, N.Y.) blasted a three-run home run to right field for the 4-0 lead.

Ahead 4-1, DC added to the lead in the fourth on a bases load walk and increased the lead to 7-1 in the fifth on a Bloomfield balk and a RBI single by Sanders.

Bobby Garbuio (Chappaqua, N.Y. ) gave Dominican the 9-1 advantage in the sixth on a two-run single up-the-middle.

Starter Justin Diaz (Coral Springs, Fla.) improved to 2-0 on the year with the complete game win.

DC is scheduled to host Chestnut Hill College tomorrow in a conference double-header slated to begin at 2pm at Palisades Credit Union Park.
