Pomona, N.Y. (4/27/21) The Dominican College baseball team dropped both games of a conference doubleheader to Goldey-Beacom College.

The Lightning took game one by a score of 8-2 and then completed the sweep over DC with a 10-3 win.

The Chargers fall to 13-10 (6-8 CACC) and the Lightning improve to 14-3 (13-3 CACC).

Game One: The Lightning took game one with an 8-2 win. Garrett Musey led the way for GBC with three hits including a double, triple, and a sixth-inning home run. Musey drove in three RBIs.

Marshall Awtry recorded two hits including a home run and two RBIs. Mason Maxwell also added a homer and one RBI. Trent Hearn recorded a double and one RBI.

For DC, Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) recorded two hits including a double, and added one RBI. Nathanael Slotkin (Coral Springs, Fla.) added a triple and drove in one RBI. Brian Sanders (La Ceiba, Honduras) added a triple.

Luke Taylor earned the win on the mound for GBC to improve to 1-0 on the season and recorded five strikeouts.

Game Two: The Lightning followed up the win in game one with a 10-3 win in game two to complete the sweep.

Garrett Musey hit two home runs in the win and finished the game with three RBIs and scored three runs. Justin Hill added a homer and three RBIs. Trent Hearn, Kyle Walker, and Connor Megginson each drove in one RBI.

Joshua Colon added two hits for DC. Shane Hewlette (Deer Park, N.Y.) finished with two hits and one run scored.

Richard Paulino (San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic), Carmine Giordano (New Rochelle, N.Y.), and Pavlos Papoutsakis (Westbury, N.Y.) each added one hit and one RBI.

Trevor Jump recorded the win for GBC to improve his record to 4-0 on the season. Jump recorded six strikeouts in the win.

The Chargers will look to bounce back on Thursday, April 29th when they host Caldwell University for a conference doubleheader beginning at 12:00 PM and game two will start at 3:00 PM.
