BASEBALL FALLS IN EAST REGION OPENER TO NO. 14/22 SNHU
Rindge, N.H. (5/27/21) The sixth-seeded Dominican College baseball team fell to top-seeded and nationally ranked Southern New Hampshire University, 5-1, this evening in their opening game of the 2021 NCAA Division II East Region Tournament, hosted by #4 Franklin Pierce University and played on Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field.

With the loss, the Chargers are now 19-14 overall and will face #2 St. Thomas Aquinas College in an elimination game tomorrow at 11am.
Senior left-handed pitcher Eric Sandusky (Stony Point, N.Y.) went the distance in the loss. In his second complete game of the season, he threw 131 pitches (79 strikes). He surrendered five runs on eight hits, walked three and struck out nine to be 2-1 on the season.
The lone Charger run came off the bat of centerfielder Max Chidsey (Naples, Fla.) on a solo home run down the left field line in the top of the sixth inning.
SNHU scored three runs in the bottom of the third on a two out single and double and then added single runs in the fifth and sixth on solo home runs.
Third basemen Richard Paulino (San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic) picked up to hits for Dominican.
