GOLF TIES FOR FIRST PLACE AT BENTLEY NEWPORT NATIONAL CLASSIC
Newport, R.I. (4/18/18) The Dominican College golf team, currently ranked sixth in the NCAA Division II East Region Rankings, finished in a two-way tie for first place among ten teams in the Bentley Newport National Classic, hosted by the Falcons at the Newport Country Club Wednesday.

In their final tournament before the NCAA II East/Atlantic Super Regional next month, the Chargers put up a 36-hole score of 590 (298-292), to tie with Babson College. Babson earned the team championship by virtue of a better second-round score (289-292).
Junior Leonard Lee (Wyckoff, N.J.) tied for third place with a 144 total score, shooting par in both rounds (72-72).
Carlos Armas Stenner (Durango, Mexico) took fifth place with scores of 72 and 73 for a 145 (+1) total score and Hunter Wescott (Portland, Ore.) shot rounds of 76 and 71 for a 147 (+3) total score and finished in a tie for seventh place.
Bryce Tickner (Victoria, British Columbia) finished in a five-way tie for 16th place with rounds of 78 and 76 for a 154 (+10). Junior Daniel Parker (Ocean City, Md.) rounded out the team scoring with a 161 (+17) total score (82-79).
Individuals Juan David Fajardo (Bogota, Columbia) and Lode Nolmans (Brussels, Belgium) finished in a tie for 22nd place (82-74-156) and a tie for 30th place (82-76-158).
Brian Pesavento from the College of Saint Rose took home the individual title with rounds of 70 and 70 for a 140 (-4) total score.
