Dominican trailed 25-20 with eight and half minutes remaining in the first half when senior forward Daniel Woods (Upper Marlboro, Md.) recorded back-to-back layups to cut the deficit to a digit, 24-25. Junior guard Khaleev Ginyard (Brentwood, N.Y.) followed with a layup of his own to give DC a 26-25 lead, but a Golden Falcon basket regained a 27-26 advantage. Ginyard followed with a three-point bucket and from there the Chargers went on a 15-4 run, capped off by consecutive laups once again by Woods to build up a nine point lead (44-33) for the Chargers.
A Felician basket concluded first half play and made the score 44-35 at the intermission.
The Chargers never trailed in the second stanza and led by as many as 13 points (75-62) with 3:37 on the clock after two free throws from Ginyard. A.J. Burton (New Rochelle, N.Y.) ended the scoring with a free throw for the final 88-77 win.
Woods led three Chargers in double figures with a career high 28 points and added seven rebounds.
Ginyard finished with 22 points (8-11 from the floor and 4-6 from the three point arc).
Senior Leon Porter II (Laurel, Md.) added 14 points in the victory, while Cory Quimby* (Otsivlle, N.Y.) tallied eight points, a team leading eight rebounds and tied his career high with six assists.
DC is on the road Thursday evening as they take on Philadelphia University.
