DEVILS DEFEAT CHARGERS
Philadelphia, Pa. (1/12/16) The University of the Sciences men's basketball team defeated the visiting Chargers of Dominican College, 63-50, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played in Bobby Morgan Arena.

The first half saw the Chargers (5-12, 4-4 CACC) shoot just 35.5% (11-31) from the floor and went 1-5 (20.0%) from the three point arc.
USciences never lost the lead in the first stanza and led by as many as nine points (17-8) with 11:21 to play. DC then went on a 12-3 run capped off by a jumper from Will Wise (Philadelphia, Pa.) to tie the score, 20-20 with a little over five minutes remaining in the half. The Devils recovered with the next eight of 10 points to regain a 28-22 advantage in route to the 34-26 lead at the break.
Gerrel Irvin (Bay Shore, N.Y.) came off the bench to lead Dominican in the first half with eight points and four rebounds. Travis Cook (Middletown, N.Y.) also grabbed four rebounds in the first half.
USciences maintained the double-digit lead throughout the second half, leading by as many as 20 points (57-37) with 8:31 to play. Dominican scored the final four points of the game for the final 63-50 score.
Irvin led Dominican with 10 points and five rebounds.
Ethan Smith, Jr. (Nyack, N.Y.) also in reserve scored nine points, while Cook finished with six points and four caroms.
The Chargers return to action on Wednesday, January 20th as they travel to CACC North Division foe, Caldwell University.
