The first five minutes of the contest saw the Chargers take an 8-4 lead with freshman guard Daniel Grant (Middletown, N.Y.) netting four of the points, but the Bears came back with four straight points to knot the game, 8-8 with 13:33 left in the half.
A 8-0 BC run gave them a 16-9 advantage with just under nine minutes left in the half. Layups from junior Gerrel Irvin (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and sophomore Travis Cook (Middletown, N.Y.) cut the lead to 16-13 with 6:23 left in the first stanza, but seven straight Bear points would lead them to a 31-23 lead at the break.
A trey from Cook and a Grant layup cut the deficit to six points (37-31) early in the second half, but a 12-7 Bloomfield run rebuilt a 49-38 lead as they went on to the win.
The Charger offense struggled as they went 21-71 (29.6%) from the floor, but were 11-17 (64.7%) from the foul line.
Bloomfield went 23-30 from the foul line in the contest, with 21 of their free throw attempts coming in the second half.
Grant led two Chargers in double figures with 14 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Irvin finished with the team's only double-double of 12 points and a game best 14 boards.
Junior Austin John Huggins (Astoria, Queens) came off the bench to net nine points, while Sayon Charles (Staten Island, N.Y.) added seven points and five caroms.
With the loss, Dominican ends the season with an overall record of 19-12.
