RODWELL SCORES A CAREER HIGH 31 POINTS AS CHARGERS FALL TO FALCONS

Following the loss, the Chargers are now 8-4 overall, while Bentley improves to 7-4 on the season.
Dominican trailed 23-21 with four and a half minutes remaining in the first half when sophomore guard Daniel Grant (Middletown, N.Y.) completed an and-one play to begin an 13-7 run to pull in front 34-30 at the intermission. Rodwell completed the first half with 12 points.
A Grant layup with 14:39 left in regulation gave the Chargers their biggest lead of the contest, 51-42, but a 10 point Falcon run turned the tides and put them ahead, 52-51 with just under 12 minutes left.
DC used six straight points late in the second half to regain a 67-65 edge and would later use two free throws from Rodwell to claim a 69-67 lead with 2:03 on the clock. Bentley would close out the game, going 6-9 from the charity stripe to earn the 73-69 victory.
In the second half, the Chargers were penalized for 15 fouls, while the Falcons were called for just eight fouls. DC went 5-5 (100%) from the foul line and Bentley going 17-23 (73.9%).
For the game, Dominican went 8-10 (80.0%) from the stripe and Bentley shot 18-25 (72.0%).
Rodwell led all scorers in the game, while adding four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Grant finished with 18 points, eight boards and a game best four steals.
Sophomore Jonathan Garcia (Springfield, Mass.) talled a team best nine caroms in the loss.
The Chargers will take on non-conference opponent, Merrimack College on December 31st in the final game of 2017.
