CHARGERS VICTORIOUS OVER UNIVERSITY OF THE SCIENCES
Philadelphia, Pa. (1/13/18) The Dominican College men's basketball team improved to 12-4 overall and 6-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after rallying to defeat host, University of the Sciences, 58-56 this afternoon in Bobby Morgan Arena.

Following the loss, the Devils fall to 9-7 overall and 5-3 in the conference.
Sophomore guard Daraja Rodwell (Baldwin, N.Y.) led three Dominican players in double figures with 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Daniel Grant (Middletown, N.Y.) and Sayon Charles (Staten Island, N.Y.) each netted 11 points in the victory, while Charles grabbed a team best nine rebounds and Grant had five caroms.
Freshman TyJon Gilmore (Watervliet, N.Y.) came off the bench to score nine points and add three assists.
USciences took a 17-12 lead with 8:10 to play in the first half when back-to-back Charger baskets made the score 17-16 with just under seven minutes on the clock. The Devils responded with an 13-9 closing half run to rebuilt a 30-25 edge at the break.
The Devils extended their lead to 39-30 early in the second half, but Dominican charged back as they started a 15-6 tear with back-to-back-to-back three-point baskets and capped off by two free throws from Gilmore to tie the game, 45-all with 11:28 left in regulation. USciences regained a 54-50 lead with 4:08 left in regulation, but a hot handed Rodwell recorded consecutive treys to make the score 56-54 with under two minutes left.
Gilmore added to the Charger lead with two shots from the charity stripe and a Devil bucket saw the score change to 58-56 with 24 seconds left. The Devils got off a potential game-winning three with four seconds left, but the ball hit the front of the rim and the Chargers took home the 58-56 victory.
Dominican will travel to Chestnut Hill College this coming Tuesday evening in CACC action. Game-time is scheduled for 8pm.
