RICHARDSON TIES CAREER HIGH IN WIN OVER WILMINGTON

(2/10/18) Freshman guard Michael Richardson (Hackensack, N.J.) tied his career high with 16 points as he lead the Dominican College men's basketball team to a 72-63 victory over the visiting Wildcats of Wilmington University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) cross-division contest played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

Dominican improves to 16-7 overall and 10-4 in the CACC, while Wilmington falls to 14-10 overall and 9-6 in the conference.
Wilmington led 27-22 with 7:25 to play in the first half when DC turned the tables with a 13-2 tear to claim a 35-29 advantage with 3:38 to go. A 'Cat jumper made the score 35-31 at the intermission.
Richardson and Daraja Rodwell (Baldwin, N.Y.) both score eight points to lead Dominican in the half.
The scored was tied for the fourth time at 48-all with a little over 12 minutes to go when the Chargers used a 14-4 run, capped off by a trey from Richardson to give DC their biggest of the game, 62-52, with 7:50 to go. WimU cut the lead to three points twice in the final four minutes, but six final points by Dominican gave them the 72-63 win.
Junior Ian Gardener (Nowalk, Conn.) tallied 15 points (6-10 from the floor) and seven rebounds, while Rodwell finished with 12 points.
Jonathan Garcia (Springfield, Mass.) grabbed a team best eight caroms, six assists and two steals in the win. Junior Ethan Smith, Jr. (Nyack, N.Y.) recorded nine points and two steals in reserve.
Jermaine Head lead all scorers in the contest as he scored 23 points, nine rebounds and six assists for Wilmington.
The Chargers will continue their three-game homestand this coming Tuesday night when they host Post University.
